Effects of Climate Change (must read)

Thanks for checking back, we really appreciate it.

The below links are must-reads if you wish to understand why climate change is not just bad for the snow season but bad for the world.

• IPCC report (2007) listing outcomes if we don’t act now (2007) -here
• Australia and the south of the US face a permanent drought
• Following the above, Australia and SW USA face possible collapse (we promise this is not scare mongering)
• We are turning the West into a desert
• The Maldives is already having to buy land for a new home
• Even if we stop fossil fuel emissions now, we’ve set a climatic course (curse?) for the next 1000 years (from NOAA)
• Steven Chu (Obama Energy Secretary and Nobel Laureate) says California faces the loss of all its agriculture
• Greenfyre discusses why climate change means global famine and why we won’t be able to just shift our food production north
• Global warming probably responsible (i.e. VERY likely, like a 1 in 1.2 MILLION that it’s not linked) for Adelaide’s 2 heatwaves in 10 months
• Our valuable oceans are slowing down their carbon sinking as they become saturated with CO2 (Uh-oh)
• Arctic is warming twice as fast as rest of world (this is very, very bad news)
• …And now the tropical glaciers are disappearing too
• …And then people could start abandoning their land
From the UK MET – no action means no skiing/boarding in a lot of places by the end of the century
• …and meanwhile NASA reckons we’ll have even higher temps in the next 2 years and decade

World is Melting
Himalayan Glaciers Melting
• Glacier NP USA melting
