Heresy Austria Launch + Bushfire Fundraiser report
Thanks for checking back, we really appreciate it.
Ok, first of all, serious props to Heresy’s Jaye F and her 3degrees women’s ski team (that’s right beeyartches we’re sponsoring a SKI team) for running our Austrian launch plus bushfire fundraiser – which by the way raised a very respectable AUD$1500 for the Red Cross’s Victorian Bushfire appeal. Awesome.
Jaye ran her bum off to organise this including a ninja mission into Innsbruck to get a shipment of clothes – so thanks to her and the mystery dude who doesn’t-speak-English-so-I-can’t-email-him-to-thank-him-but-Jaye-got-him-extra-beers-so-it’s-all-good.
I am so so happy to have Jaye on the team, she is super, super can do, even when I ring her at 1AM local time because of customs stuff ups (btw, if you are super can-do and want to be part of the team, contact us! If you are can’t-do, please don’t waste your or our time).
Heresy also wants to thank EVERY person who attended and everyone who bought a raffle ticket or Heresy merch. Just by turning up, money was raised for the bushfire victims. We put all door entry (I think it was 2 Euro) plus raffle ticket proceeds (for prizes) toward the bushfire appeal, as well as a % of merch sales on the night.
It must have been hard over in the wintery cold (and delightfully snowy) to connect with the concept of the bushfires (unless you were an Aussie in Austria, in which case you would have been especially reaching out) but I think Jaye’s excellent flyers and photos on the Facebook page as well as the worldwide coverage really reasonated with people.
Anyway, Jaye tells me a couple of hundred people turned up to throw down and help some fellow humans in need (goddamit I hope they can feel the same for the planet).
Here are some photos. (By the way, I am totally, completely, humbled to see people rocking Heresy gear. Every time I see it, it makes me smile, because these people are supporting really good causes – sweatshop free clothing, handmade boards and fighting climate change).
